For Professional Use Cholesterol Testing
The CardioChek PA is a fast, portable and accurate whole blood test system designed to enable physicians to test adult and pediatric patients for dyslipidemia and take action to bring their lipids under control on-the-spot, while they are in the office. See MORE INFO tab for clinical data reports and user guide.
The CardioChek PA test analyzer is intended for in vitro diagnostic use to test whole blood. Using this system, a health care professional can quickly measure various blood components from a small sample size. The CardioChek PA test system is capable of monitoring for diabetes and other disease states and lipid screening in both adults and children.
Recent research in cholesterol and pediatric medicine has shown that testing for high cholesterol in children can serve an important role in the long term health of the child. In fact the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute said that a child's first cholesterol check should be when they are at most 9 to11 years old. The American Academy of Pediatrics has endorsed these pediatric cholesterol guidelines. It is estimated that by fourth grade thirteen percent of American Children have elevated cholesterol, defined as total cholesterol of 200 or above. Early detection allows parents and physicians to make lifestyle modifications with life saving consequences. Now is the best time to start testing for high cholesterol in children with the CaridioChek® PA. See MORE INFO tab for recommended cholesterol lipid ranges for children.
The CardioChek test system consists of three main parts. These include the analyzer, test strips and a MEMo Chip (Each package of strips comes with a MEMo Chip that contains lot specific information for the specific strip being used). When a blood sample is applied to the test strip, a chemical reaction occurs producing a color change. The CardioChek analyzer uses reflectance photometry to measure the color reaction and compares the information to the calibration curve stored in the MEMo Chip. The Polymer CardioChek analyzer converts this color reading into a test result, which is displayed on the screen.
Test results are automatically stored in the analyzers memory. CardioChek PA memory can store up to 30 results of each chemistry and 10 results of each control test. The analyzer allows review of the results of each control test in order from the most recent to the oldest. Each result is displayed with time and date. Results stored in memory are not deleted when the batteries are changed. Point-of-Care Lipid Panel testing is proven to provide physician offices, pediatricians, and occupational health facilities with the ability to improve patient management, office efficiency and increase profits.
The CardioChek 1708 PA Monitor features a soft touch, silver finish and a heavier weight to increase stability and ease of handling during use. The CaridoChek Analyzer also features a 1 inch x 2 inch LCD display and factory calibration for convenience. The CardioChek 2161 Monitor comes complete with a Thermal Printer (see ACCESSORIES tab for more information) and printer labels for ease of use. The CardioChek 2165 offers a PA monitor, a thermal printer and 3.1 Link software to conveniently interface the monitor with a PC.
QuickMedical strictly monitors the expiration date of all blood testing products in their inventory. Purchasing a maximum of a six to nine month supply of test strips is recommended.
CardioChek Analyzer System Test Strips are used with the CardioChek Analyzer in order to test patients for their cholesterol. Test strips are available for a variety of specific applications such as glucose testing, testing ketones, lipid panel and metabolic panel testing and more.
