Enjoy the proven, time-tested performance of the world's most trusted peak flow meter in two popular models - the Standard Range Mini-Wright T and Low Range Mini-Wright AFST. Independent, international testing has proven both the Mini-Wright and Mini-Wright AFS to be the most accurate, repeatable peak flow meters available. The routine use of the Mini-Wright will also assist physicians in the diagnosis and monitoring of other respiratory conditions such as chronic bronchitis and emphysema
The original Mini-Wright peak flow meter was developed in the 1970s by Dr. B.M. Wright, of the Medical Research Council, and by Clement Clarke International, Harlow, England. The Mini-Wright remains the first choice of healthcare professionals across the world wishing to measure PEF, even into this new millennium. The Mini-Wright ASF Low Range provides those patients requiring lower value peak expiratory flow monitoring with an inexpensive, accurate and convenient meter.
A unique Aerodynamic Flow System (AFS) has been designed to provide the same accuracy and repeatability of data as that given by the standard Mini-Wright. Readings from both meters are now compatible, allowing patients to move from one meter to the other whilst retaining valuable data. The clear, easy to read scale measuring from 30 to 400 liters per minute, together with the light, smaller diameter body, makes the Mini-Wright AFS Low Range ideal for use by children and the elderly. The Mini-Wright Standard and AFS Low Range are both calibrated by hand, to ensure that readings from any two meters are comparable. This enables a patient to use a Mini-Wright at home and use a different Mini-Wright at the Clinic, yet still rely on the readings obtained
Mini-Wright peak flow meters also have a built-in one-way valve - an individual is prevented from inhaling through the device. This reduces the risk from others who have previously used the meter. The built in one way valve also facilitates the use of inexpensive cardboard tubes as disposable mouthpieces. Mini-Wrights are constructed from medical grade materials - they can be cleaned easily by agitation in mild detergent, rinsing, and allowing to dry completely. The normal life for a Mini-Wright peak flow meter is three years.
