Sani Cloth wipes is an alcohol free, germicidal wipe which kills Hepatitis B virus. Germicidal wipes such as Sani-Cloth HB are perfect for disinfecting non-porous hard surfaces. SaniCloth HB are ready to use, requires no mixing or measuring. PDI Sani Cloth HB and most PDI medical supplies are sold by the tub or case.

Sani-Cloth HB individual packets are no longer available from PDI. Comparable Sani-Cloth AF wipes with a kill time of 3 minutes are available. A choice of canister or individual packets and large or extra large are available. See links below for more information.

  • Q: Can Sani-Cloth wipes be used to clean toys?

    Yes, all PDI Germicidal Disposable Wipes may be used on toys. The proper procedure for cleaning is to wipe them, let air dry, and then rinse with potable water.

  • Q: Are the Sani-Cloth Plus, Super Sani-Cloth, and Sani-Cloth HB wipes safe for use on skin?

    Sani-Cloth wipes have been developed and tested for use as a hard surface disinfectant only. Germicidal Disposable Wipes are not to be used as a baby wipe or adult incontinent wipe.

  • Q: Are the Sani-Cloth Germicidal Wipes safe for pregnant women to use?

    The answer to this question is not known and should be deferred to the person's Physician and Obstetrician. Personal Protective Equipment such as gloves should be worn.

  • Q: Can Sani-Cloth wipes be used on computers, touch screens, and keyboards?

    No. Sani-Cloth formulas are safe for use on computer hardware and keyboard. However, do not use Sani-Cloth wipes on touch screens or monitor screens as it may deteriorate the coating on the screen. Users should always check with manufacturer's recommendations when cleaning computer touch screens.

  • Q: Can Sani-Cloth be used in the kitchen or cafeteries of a hospital or nursing home?

    No. PDI Cloth Wipes are not designed to be used on food contact surfaces. Sani-Cloth Plus, Super Sani-Cloth, and Sani-Cloth HB are considered disinfectants for non-food contact surfaces. However, Sani-Wipe and No Rinse Sani-Surface are specifically designed for use on food contact surfaces in food service areas.

  • Q: Are gloves required when using the Sani-Cloth Germicidal Disposable Wipes?

    Gloves and other personal protective equipment should be worn as per the specific Sani-Cloth product label directions for use.

  • Q: What happens if the surface dries before the stated contact time on the Sani Cloth product label?

    The reason surfaces may dry sooner than the contact time depends on temeprature and humidity of the room or environment. Sani-Cloth labels state: "treated surfaces must remain wet for the stated contact time on the product label. Use additional wipe(s) if needed to assure continuous contact time stated on the label."

  • Q: Why does PDI offer three different formulas of Sani-Cloth Wipes?

    PDI offers three different formulas to meet the various needs of specific types of equipment or surfaces in healthcare. PDI offers a high volume alcohol and quat formula, low volume alcohol and quat formula and alcohol free formula. Super Sani-Cloth contains 55 percent alcohol. Sani-Cloth Plus has 14.85 percent alcohol, and Sani-Cloth HB is alcohol-free.

  • Q: What is the common active ingredient in the wipes?

    The common active ingredient for all Sani-Cloth Wipes is quaternary ammonium compounds. Sani-Cloths do not contain phenol, benzene or ammonia.

  • Q: From what material is the Germicidal Wiping Cloth made?

    All Sani-Cloths are made from polypropylene disposable cloth material.

  • Q: Can exposure to the chemicals in Sani-Cloth wipes cause cancer?

    No. The chemicals in PDI wiping cloth formulas are not considered carcinogenic according to OSHA standards.

  • Q: Will PDI wiping cloths leave a residue or discoloration on surfaces?

    Most, if not all disinfectants will cause some discoloration, especially on plastics an dother softer surfaces. The residue that the quarternary ammonium compound leaves can usually be wiped off with alcohol or water. On some surfaces, however, alcohol can cause discoloration. Disinfectant products need to be tested in an inconspicuous area before using.

  • Q: Are Sani-Cloth Germicidal Disposable Wipes considered biodegradable and flushable?

    No. Sani-Cloths are not biodegradable nor are they flushable.

  • Q: Are Germicidal Disposable Wipes low-linting?

    All Sani-Cloth wipes are considered low-linting.

  • Q: Do Germicidal Wipes by PDI contain latex?

    No. All Sani-Cloth Germicidal Disposable Wipes are latex free.

  • Q: What is the pH level of each Sani-Cloth formula?

    Sani-Cloth HB has a 8.35 pH. Sani-Cloth Plus has a 6.80 pH, and Super Sani-Cloth has a pH of 5.78.

  • Q: Can Sani-Cloth Germicidal Wipes ship by air?

    Not all Sani-Cloth Wipes can ship by air due to the alcohol content and flammability rating. Only Super Sani-Cloth in the canister must ship by ground and not by air due to the high alcohol content.

  • Q: What happens if Sani-Cloth wipes freeze?

    If frozen, let Sani-Cloth Germicidal Wipes completely thaw out before use. The integrity of the product has not been compromised.

  • Q: Where is the expiration date on the Sani-Cloth canister?

    The expiration date is not on the canister itself. The date of the manufacture is listed and the expiration date is 2 years from the date of manufacture.
