Operating and Weighing Hints

  • Place the scale on a hard and flat surface for best accuracy.
  • Accuracy may be affected by very soft, deep pile carpets or rugs.
  • Step on and off the scale a few times before attempting to weigh yourself.
  • Adjust the pointer to zero, if necessary, using the zero adjust knob at the bottom of the scale.
  • As you use the scale over a period of time you may find that the pointer drifts slightly from zero.
  • Step on scale with weight equally distributed on both feet, stand still.
  • Weigh yourself at approximately the same time each day.
  • The foods you eat, liquids you drink and your level of activity will cause your weight to vary.
  • For more realistic results, weigh yourself without clothing.
  • The average weight of clothing, including shoes, is about 2-5 lbs. for women and 5-8 lbs. for men.
