The SRV710 Marine/Zoological Scale by SR Instruments, Inc. has expanded its line of precision scale systems to include marine and zoological applications with the introduction of the SRV710 scale system. Configured as a large platform, the SRV710 enhances husbandry training by allowing animals, such as dolphins, to be weighed using an easily trained beaching behavior. In the case of pinnepeds and other animals, they may be conditioned to walk up onto the scale or weighed in standard transport cages.

In most cases manpower is reduced to a single person once the animal is trained. This along with the ease of use will allow for increased "weigh-ins" thus providing a larger sampling of weight data resulting in improved health care. The platform also incorporates "edge anchors" which will prevent the platform from moving when used in a poolside beaching application.
